Accelerating Insight¶
An open metadata ecosystem accumulates a great deal of knowledge as a by-product of doing its job: what exists, who worked on it, what changed and when. The solutions under Accelerating insight are about the analytics Egeria generates from that automatically - turning the ecosystem's own activity into answers, without anyone having to run a query and write up the result.
Smart Collections keep a live answer to a standing question. A saved query is attached to a collection, and a background connector keeps that collection's membership in step with the query's current results. A glossary team tracking terms that still need review, a product owner watching for data sets that have drifted out of certification, a security team watching for newly-classified confidential assets - each gets an ordinary collection that can be browsed, linked to and retrieved like any other, and that is always up to date.
Organization Insight is about the people. It captures the contribution that individuals and automation make to the open metadata ecosystem, recognizing the work through karma points held in each actor's contribution record, and - in time - showing where in the organization the activity is concentrated.
The Fourth Dimension adds time. Queries can look backwards to what the repository held at a moment in the past, effectivity dates let metadata describe arrangements that are not in force yet or have already ended, and context events mark the moments that explain why the picture changed.
Work In Progress
